Resin: part two!
Eveline had another go at it.
If you know Eveline, you know she has Monday afternoons off and she gets bored. So yes, once again I did a second attempt at the new thing, in this case resin.
If you're curious about what resin is, how you work with it or what I used, check out the first post I made!
Attempt No. 2
So I used the exact same stuff I did last time: the same molds, the same mica powders and the same resin. But in this case, I decided to change the colors. In stead of galaxy things, I wanted to do some lighter stuff. So I used yellow & gold, blue, and white.
Most of it actually came out OK, one thing didn't. Here's what they are (in order of pictures in gallery below):
- First up are two coasters. The round one is a bit messed up. I had a very pretty circular pattern going on, but the two colors decided to mix up and this is the result. The hexagon one actually did work out great. The colors are nice and seperated and I love the combination of the two. So yay!
- I also made some more bookmarks, this time without any glitters. They still have a great shimmer, because of the mica powders that are actually pearl mica powders.
- With the other two bookmarks, I decided to experiment with the glitters again (meaning: I had resin left and didn't know what to do with it). So basically what I did was: put some glitters on the bottom of the mold, pour the resin over it, add some glitters on top. This actually worked better and it gave me some ideas for the future. So yay!
More resin?
I can tell you: there's more stuff coming! We ordered some different molds - also from Etsy - and alcohol inks, which are supposed to give a great effect. So you can count on us doing more resin stuff in the coming days/weeks!
